How A 3PL Can Grow Your Sales

What is a 3PL?

If you’ve never heard of a 3PL before, here’s a quick explanation of what it is. A 3PL or a Third Party Logistics company is a company that provides such resources as staff, storage, picking, packing, shipping and other logistics services paramount to E-Commerce retailers.

What are the benefits of using a 3PL?

The benefits of using a 3PL in conjunction with your business is that it can cut down on the costs of resources previously mentioned but also a 3PL can in some cases eliminate the need for a physical building which in this day and age with the recent rise to the cost of living and soaring energy prices, can indeed be a huge money saver for new and established online sellers alike.

While a 3PL handles the fulfilment of orders, this means that E-Commerce sellers or retailers can focus more of their valuable time on growing their sales, promoting their brand and also providing a more efficient customer service.

Do you pay a 3PL?

All 3PL’s are different and offer varying degrees of service which does affect the cost respectively. Here at Rapid Pack Fulfilment for example we have standard price plans for our clients but depending on the size of the client, the services required always determines the overall cost of our price plan. We believe that one of our strengths however over other 3PL’s is a hands on approach to our own customer service.

What products will a 3PL handle?

The types of products a 3PL handles will again depend on the 3PL company. Some companies will be able to handle a large variety of products. The types of sectors we deal with here include; clothing, shoes, beauty, furniture, home decor, technology, gifting, food & beverage, fitness and art prints.

No two clients are the same however and some require bespoke packing services tailored to their brand.

When should you use a 3PL?

The time to use a 3PL depends on you as the seller. If an E-Commerce business is struggling to keep up with orders or other expenditures such as storage etc then we’d recommend looking into using a 3PL as soon as possible.
